In October 2007 the suits flew in to my old place of employment and told us that in January '08 we were all fired. This was my second layoff in 5 years. Let down by corporate America once again a plan was born. Now, I travel the Earth without a home. A vagabond. A Nomad. This is my adventure.

The Fort Worth StockYards

Note: I've been a little behind in updating the website. This information is from before I left for Mexico on approximately June 16th.

Before going to Mexico I spent my last few days doing a little bike preparation and checking out one of the attractions that I wanted to see; The Forth Worth Stock Yards. I had a great time there.

Bombardier Learjet 550k Indycar Series

Saturday turned out to be an awesome day. I got some unplanned work, some pay, and an experience I will remember forever.

Jazz Under the Stars

Last night I was watching the news and wondering why it was so difficult to find a temporary part time job. They mentioned that there was an event going on called Jazz Under the Stars at the Dallas Museum of Art. I’d been wanting to tour downtown Dallas because from a distance the buildings there look awesome. I was not disappointed.

Long Road to Climax

Sunday, instead of going back to the Warbirds Over Addison air show I decided to go on a day ride with Schrec and ‘Fiona’. Schrec said there was a place on the map called Climax, TX that he and Fiona were going to and that it should be a fun ride. It was a beautiful day, clear skies, and temperate.

Warbirds Over Addison

I went out Saturday looking for something fun to do but I didn't have much of a plan. I wanted to find an Atlanta Bread Company or a Panera Bread so I could have an endless cup of coffee and grab a news paper.

Lake Ray Roberts State Park Ride.

Today I went to Lake Ray Roberts State Park. It was a great sunny day and the temperature was about perfect. The roads were great and the views were awesome. Amongst others I went through the town of Celina. The main road through the shopping area had old buildings with wooden awnings covering the sidewalk. It looked like it was pulled right from an old western movie. It was awesome.

Bike Night and day one in Texas.

My first day in Texas was awesome! I went to look at a place to rent in Arlington, TX and did some research about state parks for camping. I also cleaned and lubed my chain and installed some rear brake parts that I found at a Honda dealer in Mississippi. I went to bike night at Sachse, TX and that was cool too. Pretend you are Sean Connery saying "sexy", that's how you say Sachse.

To Texas!

Tuesday at about 1PM I left Myrtle Beach, SC. I rode through the night stopping just for gas and coffee. After getting waaaay too tired I spent about 2 hours at an Iron Skillet somewhere in Alabama where I drank 3 pots of coffee. Then I continued riding, got caught in a torrential down poor and finally arrived in Dallas, TX last night.

Now to find a place to stay! Unless I find a cheap room to rent by the week or month I plan to check out one of these camp grounds.

Black Bike Week 2008

This festival has been referenced by a few different names. I've seen Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Weekend Bike Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC. I've seen The Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Bike Fest. Though more commonly it goes by Black Bike Week. Where Harley Bike Week caters more towards choppers and cruisers (though all bikes seem to be welcomed), Black Bike Week caters more to Sports Bikes and, well, Black people (though all bikes and people seem to be welcomed).

Myrtle Beach Harley Bike Week 2008

May 9th through 18th was Myrtle Beach Harley Bike Week 2008. It was AWESOME and an experience I will not soon forget!

Check back soon for a story about my adventures there!
