Jazz Under the Stars

Last night I was watching the news and wondering why it was so difficult to find a temporary part time job. They mentioned that there was an event going on called Jazz Under the Stars at the Dallas Museum of Art. I’d been wanting to tour downtown Dallas because from a distance the buildings there look awesome. I was not disappointed.

My trip to Downtown Dallas was awesome. The evenings here are still fairly warm; 83 degrees at 8:30PM, and it’s been very windy here. Personally, I LOVE the combination. I don’t know what it is about the weather here; whether it’s a dry heat or what, but many times the locals tell me about how hot it is during the day and I am surprised to hear it. On days here where it reaches 98 or 99 degrees, it feels much cooler to me than similar days back in Richmond exercising outside. The whole trip to down town I was constantly looking this way and that at the surrounding buildings. Dallas is a very artistic place with respect to the buildings and their designs.

Once I arrived in Downtown Dallas I rode around finally seeing the buildings up close that I’d only seen so far from a distance. It was amazing. There is a building there with a hole in the middle. Seriously. Near the top of the building there is a hole. The building is a few blocks away from the Dallas Museum of Art. There is also a building shaped similar to an old Dell tower PC case, with fluorescent lights from ground to roof. It’s amazing. There is a building with what looks like a Christmas tree ball on the top lit up. I stopped and tried to take some pictures but the combination of late night photography and lots of wind resulted in many blurry photos.

By the time I arrived at Jazz Under the Stars apparently the last band had just finished playing. There were still people on stage and the road was still closed and people were sitting in the middle of the road. I guess I spent too much time riding around down town taking pictures on the way there. I walked around a little bit and eventually started taking some more pictures. I tried to get a few more pictures of the holy building from a different vantage point. Then I walked around outside of the Dallas Museum of Art and got some pics of the outside exhibits; mostly nekkid chicks statues. After walking around the outside of the museum I got back on my bike, and still amazed with the city cruised around for what was probably a couple hours. I stopped at The Dallas Morning News building and got some pics there and also grabbed a bunch of the free newspapers hoping to find viable short-term work. Being a fine Thursday evening I rode around the city a little more looking at the nightspots and finally returned home. It was a good night out on the town.

I passed this place earlier. Do they really use so many condoms in Texas they have to have their own superstore?
I’ve seen lots of motorcycles here in Texas. They are everywhere. Even inside the Walmarts.
When I went into the Walmart my bike was parked by it’s lonesome. When I came out it was a party!
These are pics of the building with a hole in it.
This is my bike in front of The Dallas Morning News.

I saw this guy outside of the place I am renting. Isn’t this guy supposed to be working at Geico saving you money on your car insurance?
